Using Chat Rooms
Chat rooms are used to brainstorm ideas, hold a question and answer period, have a debate or discussion, or create a remote study group.
Different to Discussions, chat rooms conversations occur in real-time.
A chat room through VU Collaborate will be created by the teacher and a link to a chat room will be available within the unit space.

3. Refresh the chat room window
Access a chat room
1. To access a chat room link inside a unit space click on the chat hyperlink.

Add a chat room message
1. Type a message in the text box at the bottom of the chat room, and press Enter on your keyboard and or click Send.

Refresh the chat room window
Refrshing the chat room window will ensure that all messages are visible.
If you believe that new messages are not appearing on your screen fast enough, press F5 on your keyboard to refresh the chat room.
See who else is chatting
The Participants pane displays a list of users currently signed in to a chat room.
